| The ECIS Wayside Manager (WM) provides
the communications interface between the TM and field devices. The
WM was developed as a web service and, as such, is configured, supported,
and maintained through a web browser (i.e., Internet Explorer). The
WM is fully featured and includes support for all major serial protocols
currently in-service throughout North America and has the capability for
quick development of additional protocols. The WM also includes a
built-in serial line analyzer providing ready diagnostic access to individual
serial ports.
Additionally, the WM can also provide the communications
interface to Automatic Equipment Identification equipment, Hot Box Detectors,
Passenger Platform Displays, and any other field device that needs to communicate
with any ECIS System.
The CS was developed for server-class computers which provide 99.999%
availability.
